One great honor a violinist can achieve is serving as the Concert Master of an orchestra. This position is filled by the top violinist in an orchestra. The Concert Master leads the entire violin section and is looked at, and up to by the entire ensemble, second to the conductor. This person is also in charge of tuning the orchestra.
I am proud to announce that both Kara Eide and Liz Frohman have risen to fill this position in their high school orchestras this year.
Liz, a junior, is currently the Concert Master of the North Star High School Orchestra. You can also see her perform a concert with the Nebraska Wesleyan Honors Orchestra on February 14, 2009.
Kara, a senior at Lincoln Southwest High School, is serving as Concert Master of her orchestra. Kara is currently preparing for her Senior Recital! Be on the lookout for this upcoming event.
Great leadership!
